THE relaxomat biofeedback monitor consists of the monitor which includes visual (flashing lights) and auditory (rising in pitch) feedback to indicate stress level and effects of relaxation efforts. The moninor includes a button to set the sensitivity level of your skin, a knob that fine tunes the sensitivity level, a button for altering the monitors sensitivity to change (this can come in useful when deepening relaxation efforts by making the change sensitivity button less sensitive when you want to improve your ability to relax more deeply) and a sound level button. You can either place your fingers on the side of the monitor or place two fingers or toes inside the electrodes which attatch to the machine. also included in addition to the monitor and electrodes are an earphone and an instruction manual. The monitor can be used by people who are visually or auditorially impaired as it has two different cue systems instead of one found in most machines. The monitor works like most of them by measuring galvanic skin resistance. The relaxomat was developed in West Germany and retails for over $200. It operates on a 9-volt-battery which IS NOT INCLUDED.
